A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support elementary school students in Houston, TX. This contract role aligns with the current school year and requires full-time commitment.
Location:
- Houston, TX
- Elementary school settings with preferred campus options: East Houston (Tijerina ES, Burnet ES, Laurenzo ECC) and Southwest Houston (Herod Elementary)
Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP license (proof required)
- School-based experience is essential
- Candidates with VOCO certification are not being considered
- Prior special education experience, especially with autism and behavioral challenges, is highly valued
- Bilingual skills are preferred for itinerant roles
Responsibilities:
- Option 1 (Itinerant): Conduct assessments, evaluations, and participate in IEP and referral meetings; bilingual candidates are preferred for this role
- Option 2 (Campus-Based at Herod Elementary): Deliver therapy services, handle referrals, and conduct evaluations with a caseload of approximately 58 students
- Availability to interview via Microsoft Teams (15-30 minutes) promptly after application
